Her Excellency Mrs. Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, The First Lady of The Republic of The Gambia Honored with the Distinguished Global Award for Excellence in Women, Children, and Youth Development and the Blessings of Africa Iconic Champion of Change Award

Dr. Queen Blessing Itua, Visionary Founder of Global Empowerment Movement (GEM) USA is proud to present Her Excellency Mrs. Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow with the GEM USA prestigious, Distinguished Global Award on the occasion of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 74) High-Level Segment, in recognition of her outstanding work as the First Lady of Gambia.

As the loving mother of Gambia, we are happy to collaborate with the Gambian Mission to the United Nations to celebrate Her Excellency for her dedication to the establishment of programs to reduce extreme poverty, assisting marginalized rural women, girls and vulnerable children in The Gambia; which closely aligns with the mission of our organization – Empowerment!

GEM takes delight in honoring and celebrating leaders dedicated to positively impact the lives of the people that they serve. Her Excellency has been exemplary at using her platform to making a difference, including championing the Children on the Move initiative and for advocating for the implementation of enacted legislation and policies that protect the rights of children. These are very laudable efforts that have received international recognition today.

Dr. Queen Blessing also presented a Georgia State resolution from Rep. Karen Bennett, the Chair of Georgia State Black Caucus, the largest in the United  States

Her excellency graciously graced our event to celebrate our immediate past Distinguished Global Award Recipient, Her Excellency Dr. (Mrs.) Aisha Buhari, the First Lady of Nigeria – who was honored for Excellence in Women Empowerment and Gender Development during the 73rd Segment of United Nations General Assembly.

We are proud to amplify voices at this very special occasion to remind us of the very important, selfless work of leaving “no one woman, youth, or child behind.”

We celebrate Her Excellency achievements for using her platform as the First lady to positively impact lives and the society that she serves,
as a role model.

As we celebrate Her Excellency with the distinguished  Global Award for Excellence, and the Blessings of Africa, Iconic Champion of Change, we used the occasion to motivate others to be the Blessings of their Communities and Champions of Positive Impact, needed to change our narratives – the African narratives.HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS ONCE AGAIN FOR THIS GLOBAL RECOGNITION!
